Board Evolves through Strategic Planning

Through two strategic planning sessions, the Booster Club has outlined a new structure that will ensure better workflow between our volunteers and a better distribution of responsibilities. It was determined that there are three main purposes of the Penn State Rugby Booster Club and those are 1) connect and engage the community, 2) provide resources to allow players to aspire to be champions, and 3) prepare players to be successful after graduation. Through various events, fundraising, supportive measures, and a constant strive to level the playing field, the Booster Club hopes to continue to fulfill these purposes and achieve it with greater focus.

In the coming month, the Booster Club plans to implement seven working groups that will be responsible for working within their groups and in conjunction with the entire Board of Directors to address and implement the strategic imperatives. These working groups include Success After College, University & Team Relations, Events, Data, Communications, Branding, and Fundraising. The entire Board of Directors will be made up of the Director of each working group, a treasurer, and four non-executive members which include both Head Coaches, a representative from The Foundation, and the Penn State Rugby Director of Operations.

The goals of the new working structure of the Booster Club are to foster accountability among our volunteers and to invite and welcome new ideas, members, and interactions that will inherit the longstanding traditions and purposes of a club that directly supports the rugby program. If your experience or interest in a specific working group or if a specific outlined purpose of the Booster Club has inspired you to give back, please email Kellie (Kellievetr@gmail.com) and together we can find a place for you, your ideas, and your desire to help!
