In the November E-letter, the Penn State Rugby Booster Club announced the restructuring of the board.  The restructure entailed the creation of specific working groups led by a director.  The hope is that the new organization will ensure all initiatives of the board are accomplished.

Below you can find a description of each of the seven working groups, the minimum number of people needed, and who to contact if you are interested in leading or being a part of one of the working groups.  We are currently looking for directors for five of our working groups.  Feel like your skills are not the best fit but have a recommendation of someone the board should reach out to?  Please feel free to provide that information as well and someone from the current board will be sure to connect with them.

Success After College - Director needed

The Success After College working group will implement a plan to initiate and develop relationships between current student-athletes and alumni mentors.  These connections will provide student-athletes with guidance and direction pertaining to their current and future personal goals, as well as with professional development opportunities tied to their career aspirations.  Mentors will offer expertise and professional advice that will help current student-athletes navigate their life beyond PSU.

This working group has several parent members and is seeking an alumni director to guide the development and implementation of the program. If you are interested in being the director of this group please reach out to Elaina O’Toole (otoolesonthewater@yahoo.com) and Kellie Vetter (kellievetr@gmail.com).

Communications - Director and minimum of 2 group members needed

The Communications working group will ensure consistent and meaningful communications to all Penn State Rugby stakeholders across a variety of platforms. They will ensure monthly e-letter communication and coordinate the creation of paper mailings and appeals, along with exploring new ways and platforms to engage with Penn State Rugby stakeholders.  This group would be great for people who enjoy writing, editing, and creating content.  If you are interested in leading or being a part of the communications working groups please reach out to Kellie Vetter (kellievetr@gmail.com).

Fundraising - Director and minimum of 1 group member needed

The Fundraising group will work to raise operational funds for the current team and drive the “Level the Playing Field” campaign. They will work closely with the Penn State Rugby foundation to coordinate fundraising efforts.  If you are interested in leading or helping with the program's fundraising efforts please reach out to Kellie Vetter (kellievetr@gmail.com).

Events - Director and minimum of 3 group members needed

The Events group will work to create in-person or virtual events for alumni, parents, friends, and current players to engage with the program and each other.  This would include our annual family and friends weekend and could include a variety of other functions such as alumni happy hours, virtual town halls, and other meaningful events.  If you are interested in event planning and thinking of creative ways for the Penn State Rugby community to get together please reach out to Kellie Vetter (kellievetr@gmail.com).
